BANQUET: SUNDAY, JULY 16, 2023

Our LPAC season’s end is quickly approaching, as is our season ending Banquet.

Registration deadline is Sunday, July 9: 2023 LPAC Banquet Registration

This is our final chance to gather around a meal, celebrate the season with trophies and awards, as well as send off our age-outs into the grownup Penguin World. Register to reserve your Banquet meals today! The final registration deadline is Sunday, July 9th!

• Date: Sunday, July 16, 2023
• Time: 4:30 to 8:00 PM
• Place: Los Paseos Clubhouse & lawn area
• Meal: Choice of Freshly Grilled Tacos with Carne Asada (beef), Marinated Chicken, Al Pastor (marinated pork), or Chorizo (Mexican pork sausage) with potatoes. Grilled Vegetables will be available – please indicate the vegetarian option. Rice, beans, chips and salsa will also be served.
• Cost: Swimmers eat free but must register to reserve a meal.
• Additional meals: $15 for additional meals. You MUST order extra meals in advance; orders will not be accepted at the door.
• Payment Options:
• Check: Make checks payable to LPAC and put your checks in the TREASURER folder in the family files.
• Zelle: Use Zelle to pay Justin Katz at treasurer@swimlpac.org, Include “LPAC 2023 Banquet” with Swimmer Family Last Name in memo.

CHAMPS Food Pre-order: DUE JULY 1, 2023

CHAMPS is a LONG day.  Make lunch easy by pre-ordering a Mr. Pickles lunch. As of now this will be the only meal that is guaranteed at CHAMPS. There will also be a KONA ICE truck and they are working on another dessert truck. We may be able to also order at the food windows at the aquatic center but the service can take a long time. Mr. Pickles is also donating 10% back to the league!

• Pre-orders are due Saturday, July 1st.

BEACH TRIP: JULY 8, 2023

All swimmers in the high school age practice group are invited to attend the traditional LPAC beach-and-bonfire trip to Twin Lakes State Beach in Santa Cruz.

We play on the beach, take a lot of photos, enjoy a BBQ dinner, then build a bonfire and roast marshmallows for s’mores.

• Date: Saturday, July 8, 2023
• Time: Meet at Los Paseos Pool at 4:30 pm
• RSVP: Register by Wednesday, July 5th! 

There will be a Zoom meeting on Wednesday, July 5th at 7pm to go over any questions and chaperone details.

Dear Penguins and Parents:

We hope you all had a wonderful time at the Cardboard Boat Races and the Overnighter! Our Penguins swam very well at the meet on Saturday, and defeated the Silver Creek Sharks with a final 113.6 to 91.3. Go Penguins! Meet results are posted on the Silver Creek @ LPAC page of the website.
SWIM-A-THON: WEDNESDAY, JUNE 28

Our annual Swim-A-Thon is on Wednesday, June 28! LPAC swimmers, here’s your chance to help raise funds for the team while challenging yourself and getting a great workout. Collect pledges and then swim as many laps as you can to support LPAC and win prizes too! Only swimmers who turn in their pledges will be eligible for prizes, so download your pledge sheet now and visit the Swim-A-Thon page on our website for more information.
Back by popular demand! This year we are going to raffle off fun activities with the Coaches and a Penguin pal of your choosing.

• Coach Julia & Coach Maddy- Skating @ the Plex! Enjoy a 90 minute Skate session with your Coaches.
• Coach Anthony & Coach Jack- Picnic in the Park. Have your favorite food and then play at Los Paseos Park with your Coaches.
• Coach Maddy B. & Coach Caitlyn – Jamba and Swim @ Los Paseos. Have an ice cold Jamba Juice and go swimming with your Coaches and friends.

Tickets will be given out for meeting the Laps goal set by the coaches during the Swim -A- Thon. An extra ticket will be given for every 10 laps swam over the swimmer’s age group goal. Drawing will be held during Spirit Night! Contact Kelly Fumagalli with any questions.

**All funds raised go towards the goal of new lane lines and audio equipment.

CHAMPS ADS: GIVE A SHOUT OUT TO YOUR SWIMMER AND RAISE MONEY FOR THE LEAGUE!

The 2023 CHAMPS ads are due June 30th.

CHAMPS programs are in black and white, on regular paper and will be available to purchase for $10 each. Costs of CHAMPS ads are as follows:

• 1/8 of a page: $12.50
• 1/4 of a page: $25.00
• 1/2 of a page: $50.00
• Full Page: $100.00 (most commonly used for aging out swimmers)

END OF SEASON GIFTS FOR COACHES
If you would like to contribute to end of season gifts for the coaches, please get in touch with Judy Seps. She will be collecting contributions and will have cards to sign until July 13th, which is Spirit Night. Feel free to give as much or as little money as you would like. All funds will be pooled together to purchase gift cards. We will present the gift cards and Thank You cards to each coach at the LPAC banquet.

LPAC BOARD ELECTIONS: JULY 13, 2023

2024 LPAC Board elections will be held during Spirit Night.
Please consider adding your name to the ballot and join our LPAC board. The governing board hires coaches, and plans and executes our events and traditions. Please consider volunteering.
