Dear Penguin Family,

Happy 4th of July! We hope that you and your family are having a great day. There is no practice today.

LPAC had a great show for Splash & Dash last Tuesday. We had a total of 97 swimmers do their best. They swam so hard. All together we swam a total of 8403 laps. That is 611 more laps than last year with 5 less swimmers than last year. Penguins can do anything if we put our hearts into it. Congratulations to all of our Penguins! 

With only two weeks before the end of the season there are going to be a lot of things going on and there will be a lot of important information in these emails. Sign up for Mr. Pickles for Champs by this upcoming Monday July 7. Get your Champs Ad for the Champs Program before this Tuesday the 8th. RAFT TRIP: SATURDAY JULY 5, 2025

One of our Penguin families has two rafting tickets that they are not going.tp be able to use. If someone would like to purchase two more tickets please contact George Nijmeh @408-489-2416 and he will connect you to the family that has the tickets. Move fast there are only two tickets available.

LPAC has 130 Penguin parents and family members signed up to raft tomorrow. If you didn’t get a chance to put your waivers in the Raft Trip folder, bring signed waiver forms for each person going rafting with you please. Have a great time. You will be making lifetime memories with your swimmer. Come back with a ton of fun stories to share with those penguins that couldn’t go.

PRE-ORDER LUNCH FOR CHAMPS

Order from Mr. Pickles Form by next Monday July 7 to help support the Valley Cabana Swim League and help us keep the price of Champs down. Mr. Pickles will not be selling food at Champs, they will only have pre-ordered food. So order before the end of the day Monday. Pay our LPAC treasurer by either check (made out to LPAC and put in the treasurer folder in the back of the family folders) or pay through Zelle using the email treasurer@swimlpac.org. We will make sure that you have paid before giving order to VCSL.

Now is the time to collect pledges. Ask your family and friends to sponsor your amazing swim. Sponsors can either give your a flat donation or they can sponsor you per lap. Print out Splash & Dash Pledge Sheets.. Collect pledges. All donations are tax deductible. Turn in pledge sheets and money by July 8th to the Splash & Dash folder in the back of the Family File Folders. Only swimmers that turn in donations will be able to win prizes at Spirit Night, July 17.

Thank you to all of the Penguin Parents that stayed and were Penguin Lap Counters during their swimmers practice time.

BEACH TRIP: SATURDAY, JULY 12 RSVP BY JULY 8TH

All swimmers that have finished their 9th grade year are invited to attend the traditional LPAC Beach-and-bonfire trip to Twin Lakes State Beach in Santa Cruz. Please register your teenager by July 8th for the 2025 Beach Trip  Check out the Beach Trip page on the website for more information.

CAR DECORATING: JULY 18 

Come decorate your car for Champs with us. We will be decorating between 5 and 6 pm on Friday July 18. Bring your cars to the back of the church parking lot closest to Los Paseos. We will provide some washable car markers. If you would like to bring your own please do so. Show your Penguin Spirit!
 
SPAGHETTI DINNER: JULY 18 SIGN UP NOW

The night before Champs, all High School aged swimmers, who have completed their Freshman year of High School or older, are invited to “carbo-load” with their teammates at the LPAC Spaghetti Dinner. Families of High School age Penguins are asked to Sign up to provide part of the dinner & help make the Spaghetti dinner a success.

END OF SEASON GIFTS FOR COACHESThe Last time you will be able to contribute to the Coaches Gifts is on July 12th. Keep an eye out for 

Judy Seps, the LPAC photographer. She will be collecting contributions for coaches gifts at the Belwood meet. As a reminder we do have 7 coaches this year. You may contribute with cash, check(made out to Judy Seps) or Venmo @judyseps (last four digits of her phone number are 3532). All funds will be pooled together to purchase gift cards. We will present the gift cards and Thank You cards to each coach at the LPAC banquet.

2025 LPAC COMMUNITY BOOK

Help your fellow penguin families get to know you and your swimmer(s)!  Add your family picture to the 2025 LPAC Community Book, add your swimmer’s names and ages along with some fun family facts to a slide. This is a fun way to get to know all of the families on the team. A volunteer parent photographer will also be available at the swim meets to take quick pictures for you.

Dear Raft Trip Penguins, LPAC Raft Trip Information Raft trip Saturday, July 5, 2025  If you have fireworks and are planning to stay, please bring some to share at dark.   Meet at 18210 Sonora Road, Knights Ferry, CA (1800 Covered Bridge Rd. according to apple maps).  Please arrive early at 8:30, so we can walk down to launch at 9am.   Turn in all raft trip waivers to the team folder prior to the trip. One waiver per person. Turn in forms to the “RAFT TRIP” folder before the end of practice Thursday. Or your family will have to sign waiver forms when you get to Sunshine Rafting. George Nijmeh will turn in all waivers and then receive wristbands.  No waiver, no wristband. We are a group reservation so we need to all be present in order for our trip to begin.    We can stop at Horseshoe park for lunch which is about halfway.   When we get off the rafts we wait for shuttles to bring us back to the parking lot.  Before heading home or into Oakdale for the night, many LPAC families like to stop at the Knights Ferry Creamery 17631 Sonora Rd, Knights Ferry, CA 95361 for a treat. https://www.facebook.com/knightsferrycreamery If you plan on staying in Oakdale for the night, I would like to suggest that we meet at dinner time at Backwoods Burgers – 1214 W F St, Oakdale, CA 95361     https://backwoodsburgers.com/ Backwoods Burgers has family style seating and we order at the counter so we don’t need to wait for a server.  There are TV’s with sports and news and many LPAC families can be together.  But there are many other delicious restaurants in Oakdale, feel free to explore. After dinner an ultimate frisbee game may be taking place for the high school group at Brennan Park on Pedersen Rd.  The coaches or swimmer reps will be sending out reminders.  Finally, at dark we meet for fireworks (if anyone was able to procure fireworks) on East Ave between the Motel 6 and Apostolic Assembly By- Faith.  I’ll bring a bucket and lighters.   Finally it’s lights out – Thank you for joining! Dear Penguin Party People, The End of Season Banquet is our chance to celebrate the swimmers, the coaches, the families, the sponsors and especially the age-outs. Banquet is held the Sunday after Champs. It is held at the Los Paseos Clubhouse on the back lawn area in the late afternoon and evening. For one last time, we’ll all get together to have dinner, pass out trophies, say goodbye to our age-out swimmers, and celebrate another great season. All LPAC swimmers receive their meal free of charge, but you must turn in a form so we can get an accurate count. Parents and siblings who are not on the team may also eat for an additional charge. Remember to bring your own chairs, EZ-ups, and blankets! It should be a hot day. Details Date: July 20, 2025 Time: 4:30 to 8:00 PM Place: Los Paseos Clubhouse back lawn area Meal: Choice of Freshly Grilled Tacos with Carne Asada (beef), Marinated Chicken, Al Pastor (marinated pork), or Chorizo (Mexican pork sausage) with potatoes. Grilled Vegetables will be available – please indicate the vegetarian option. Rice, beans, chips and salsa will also be served. Cost: Swimmers eat free but must turn in 2025 LPAC Banquet form to reserve a meal. Additional meals: Price $15 for each additional meal.. You MUST order extra meals in advance; orders will not be accepted at the door.
