Wow! Here we go right into week TWO! We have some fun things around the corner! Here are a few updates, reminders, and a survey that we need a quick response to.

Tomorrow, Monday, April 29th practice begins!  Here are a few reminders as we begin our first week of the swim team season:

  • Practices start tomorrow (Monday, April 29), with age group times as follows:
  • 8 & under: 5:30-6:15 pm
  • 9-11: 6:15-7:00 pm
  • 12-14: 7:00-8:00 pm
  • High school: 8:00-9:00 pm
  • Suits and merchandise will be sold this Thursday and Friday ( May 2 and May 3). Please plan to come before your regular practice time to try on suits and check out the merchandise order form. (It’s much easier to do that before the kids get wet.) And don’t forget your checkbook! All swimmers are required to have a team suit or a plain black suit for meets and Picture Day.  If you know your swimmer’s size please use this link now to order their new team suit.  https://illusionsactivewear.com/teams/lpac-penguins/
  • If you have a team suit or LPAC gear from last year that your swimmer has outgrown, please consider donating. Have your swimmer bring to practice this week. Jennie Anderson will collect from the coaches and have available for swimmers needing a larger or smaller suit.
  • If you are interested in being a Stroke and Turn Judge this year, plan to attend the Stroke & Turn Judging Clinic on Saturday, May 11 at the Montevideo Clubhouse.
  • Penguin Madness is on Friday, May 17 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Please follow the link and send an email if you plan on attending. https://swimlpac.org/events/penguin-madness/
  • You should have received an email on March 31 from volunteers@swimlpac.org asking if you would like to return to the same position this season. If you did not receive this email please send your contact information to the email volunteers@swimlpac.org. Remember that in addition to your regular shift each family is asked to sign up for at least one clean-up shift after a home meet.
  • Just a reminder: If you need to relay any specific information to the coaches, please send email to coaches@swimlpac.org.
  • If you have any questions about special events or general team information, you can send an email to info@swimlpac.org.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Welcome Back Penguins!

The new family orientation will be held Wednesday, April 17, at 7 pm at the Los Paseos Clubhouse. 
Judy Seps will be holding swimsuit try-on for returning families beginning at 7 pm at the meeting. If you need an LPAC suit to replace what you used last year, you must use the link provided below or find the same link here on the website under TEAM INFO tab at the top and subtab SUITS and MERCHANDISE. https://illusionsactivewear.com/teams/lpac-penguins/ 
Returning families are not required to attend the April 17th meeting since most volunteer signups are now handled online. But you are certainly welcome to come by and catch up with swim team friends!

Practices start on Monday, April 29, with age group times as follows:

  • New swimmers only: 5:00-5:30 pm
  • 8 & under: 5:30-6:15 pm
  • 9-11: 6:15-7:00 pm
  • 12-14: 7:00-8:00 pm
  • High school: 8:00-9:00 pm

Any siblings who are trying out for the team this year should plan to come to the new swimmer practices every day starting Tuesday, April 23rd as outlined in their invitation to tryout sent by email earlier.

Suits and merchandise will be sold Thursday, May 2nd and Friday, May 3rd. Please plan to come before your regular practice time to try on suits and order merchandise. (It’s much easier to do that before the kids get wet.) And don’t forget your checkbook!

ABOUT LPAC

Los Paseos Aquatic Club (LPAC) is a non-profit organization that has served the Los Paseos community for over 50 years.

As a family-oriented summer swim team, LPAC provides children in the Los Paseos neighborhood the opportunity to participate in competitive swimming in a fun, friendly, and supportive environment. Team members range in age from 5 to 18 years old.

LPAC is a member of the Valley Cabana Swim League and swims against other cabana teams in San Jose and Los Gatos.
