LPAC Wins over Montevideo Piranhas ~ 127.9 to 107.5

We were able to swim faster than the Piranhas which lead to an LPAC win this past Saturday.

Records are broken Congratulations to:

  • Boys 11-12, 200 Medley Relay set a new record of 2:16.21, 16 seconds faster than the previous value. Taylor DeSantis, Tomas Manole, Luke Anderson and Greyson Fang who comprise this speedy team.
  • Boys 13-14 200 Freestyle Relay shaved off close to 4 seconds with a new record of 1:44.38. Anthony Anderson, Mathew Primeau, David Jerez and CJ Taylor led the charge in this successful endeavor.

WILL YOU BE AT THE MEET ON JUNE 22nd?

This weeks Swim Meet is away Saturday (6/22) against the Belwood team.  If your child will miss all or part of the meet, email coaches@swimlpac.org and volunteers@swimlpac.org by today at the latest. The volunteer coordinators need to know if parents will also be gone. Current list of expected absent swimmers include:  Trevor & Tanner Buchanan, Ainsley Keslin, Tessa Turner, Vasiti Vunawai, Ethan Calderon, Ethan Hadfield, Kayla Wensmann, and Ona Musoli-Buendia.

Fun Age Group Event, Fri June 21 & 28th

This year, our penguin family is getting out into the community with some fun age-group service projects! We’ll be organizing one activity for each practice group, with events spread throughout the remainder of the season. See our fun age group event details here.
Our high schoolers and 12-14s will be volunteering with Our City Forest, an awesome local organization that plants trees in public spaces around San Jose. We’ll be working at Martial Cottle Park helping to take care of a recently planted arboretum.
  • Wear closed-toed shoes
  • Wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty.
  • Bring a reusable water bottle and sunscreen
  • All swimmers need a signed parent/guardian consent form.
The high schoolers will be working this Friday, June 21. 
  • Time: 8:30 AM ~ 12 Noon, Lunch to follow at nearby spot
  • Location: Meet at LPAC pool at 8:30 AM and set up carpools to location

The 12-14s will be volunteering next Friday, June 28. 

  • Leave directly after practice at 8:45 AM
  • Time: 8:45 AM (right after practice) ~ 12 Noon, Lunch to follow at nearby spot
  •  We’ll need parent drivers/chaperones; parents that are available to help out, please email Coach Amanda at akj@whenbynow.com

Overnighter Saturday, June 22-23!

Are you ready for a night of fun and games? Saturday night, June 22,  LPAC swimmers will camp out in tents on the grass next to the Los Paseos pool and stay up late swimming, dancing, playing dodge ball, and just having fun with their friends. LPAC Board members and their spouses stay the night and take shifts to be sure children are supervised at all times. Champs is just around the corner it is time to do a few things now:

LPAC vs Montevideo, Morning Practice Starts & Sweet Tomatoes Fundraiser too . . .

LPAC Wins over Almaden Gators ~ 131.8 to 114.0

It was a great effort as the LPAC team members showed improved times 77% of the time. All of these improvement points actually add to our overall score and helped us solidify the win. We want to keep that going, so be sure to take the time and come to morning practice. We know it can be a challenge sometimes for the teenagers to rise and shine for their 6:45 AM practice, but keep in mind, practice will makes us all stronger and yes even faster.

MORNING PRACTICE STARTS THIS WEEK ~ Set your alarm, get out of bed, and swim!

  • High School: 6:45–7:45/8:15 am*
  • 12-14: 7:45–8:45/9:15 am*
  • 9-11: 8:45–9:30 am
  • 8 & under: 9:30–10:15 am

*** Dry-land for swimmers 12 & up, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Bring your running shoes***

ABOUT LPAC

Los Paseos Aquatic Club (LPAC) is a non-profit organization that has served the Los Paseos community for over 50 years.

As a family-oriented summer swim team, LPAC provides children in the Los Paseos neighborhood the opportunity to participate in competitive swimming in a fun, friendly, and supportive environment. Team members range in age from 5 to 18 years old.

LPAC is a member of the Valley Cabana Swim League and swims against other cabana teams in San Jose and Los Gatos.
