Week 3 Wrap Up!

It was wonderful to see so many new and returning swimmers having such a great time at Penguin Madness! Thank you to our LPAC community for participating in this cherished Penguin tradition.

Practices have also been going great. Keep up the good work, as we get ready for Time Trials!

Time Trials is on May 28th!

Time Trials is on Saturday, May 28th!

The first swim meet of the season is “Time Trials,” which is just like a regular meet but without the other team. LPAC swimmers race against their own teammates.

The purpose of time trials is to determine, under real race conditions, each swimmer’s time in every event. These times are used to determine seedings and calculate improvement points at the dual meets.

Attendance at Time Trials is mandatory, and we need parents to volunteer for positions just like at dual meets. It’s a good chance for swimmers and parents to get warmed up for the start of the season—and a great opportunity for our newest penguins to experience their very first races!

• Date: Saturday, May 28, 2022
• Time: Swimmers must check in with Coaches between 7:00 – 7:15 AM.
• Meet starts at 8:00 AM.
• Please email the coaches to let them know if you will have to miss any part of the meet at coaches@swimlpac.org.
• Location: Los Paseos Pool

COVID-19 Policy

Our governing board has decided to follow the COVID-19 Isolation and Quarantine Instructions issued by the California Department of Public Health. We have added a COVID-19 Protocol Page to the website.

• Please keep your swimmers home if they have symptoms or if they test positive for COVID-19.
• Following a positive COVID-19 test, please keep your swimmer isolated for 5 days, as per the CDHP guidelines.
• Siblings of those who test positive may attend practice if they do not have symptoms and have a negative COVID-19 test.

• 9-11: 6:15–7:00 pm

Most of the year, we’re all one big happy penguin family. But at Penguin Madness, swimmers from all age groups are grouped into different Penguin teams that compete in fun non-swimming events like tug-of-war and musical chairs to see who has the most penguin power. Don’t miss this cherished Penguin tradition!

Let us know if your swimmers will be attending! Please sign up no later than Monday, May 16th.

Special Notes

• Swimmers are encouraged to wear the color of their designated Penguin team. Team rosters will be posted at the pool by Wednesday, May 18th.
• This is a family event. Parents and siblings are invited to come and cheer on their favorite penguins.
• Bring your own folding chairs or blankets to sit on.
• The coaches will referee the events.
