Penguin 2023 Season!

Registration for returning families and new siblings is available today, March 1st!

2023 Registration for Returning Families

Things to know:

• Returning Family Registration due March 18 at the Los Paseos Clubhouse: All completed packets must be submitted as a hard copy to the LPAC office at the pool by March 18. We do not have the time to print email submitted registrations. Please clearly mark your registration with “LPAC Penguins” to differentiate from HOA mail.

• Payments by Zelle: We are now accepting registration payments via Zelle, just look us up under the email treasurer@swimlpac.org using your Zelle App or bank. Be sure to include the family name and swimmers in the memo section.

• Know a New Family who wants to join our team? Please have them send an email to Info@swimlpac.org with a subject line of “New Family 2023” to inquire about the special open Registration held on March 25th, 8:00 – 9:30 AM using signup genius.

Dear Penguins and Parents:

Trophies, etc…

If you did not attend the Banquet, you can pick up your trophies and ribbons at Coach Scott’s house. Please text Coach Scott (408-613-5126) to arrange a time to pick them up. After next week, they’ll go back into the container until next season!

Year-Round Swimming Opportunities

Many families have expressed interest in year-round swimming. We’re lucky to live close to several good teams that offer flexible programs and schedules. See the Year-Round Swimming page on the team website for more information. South Valley Stingrays is closest, and Coach Jerry said LPAC swimmers are welcome to come by the Rancho Santa Teresa pool any morning (Monday-Thursday) at 9:00 am for a free tryout. They will also have tryouts on Saturday, July 30. If you have any questions, you can send email to coaches@swimlpac.org or talk to any of the year-round swim families to discuss which program might work best for you. We encourage you to sign up with a friend or two – it helps with carpooling, and makes it more fun!

Dear Penguins and Parents:

We are so excited to see all of our Penguins swimming at Champs tomorrow! Please read below for important Champs information.

**IMPORTANT CHAMPS INFO**

Meet Details:

• Location: Gunderson High School, 622 Gaundabert Lane, San Jose, CA  95136
• AM Check in for 11 and over: 6:45am
• PM Check in for 10 and under: 12:15pm

IMPORTANT NOTES:

• If your child is sick, please call or text Coach Scott: 408-613-5126.
• If a parent volunteer cannot check in by their designated check in time, please text Cecie at 408-910-5611.

Meet Timeline 11 & Overs – AM Session:

• 6:45am: Swimmers 11 and over check in
• 7:00am: Parent Volunteer check in for AM session
• 7:00 – 7:45am: Warm-Ups (Lanes 3 & 4)
• 8:00am: Races Begin
• 12:00 – 1:00pm: Break -> 11 and over leave and 10 and under arrive.
• No spirit relays are scheduled for the 11 and over meet.
• Families with swimmers in the AM session may not arrive on campus before 6:30am. The gates will open at 6:30am.

Meet Timeline 10 & Unders – PM Session:

• 12:15pm: Swimmers 10 and under check in
• 12:30pm: Parent Volunteer check in for PM session
• 12:30 – 1:00pm: Warm-Ups (Lanes 3 & 4)
• 1:00pm: Races Begin
• 4:00pm: Meet Ends (approx.)
• Coach and Parent Relays at the end of 10 and under meet.
• Families with swimmers in the afternoon session may not arrive on campus until after 12:30pm.

Space Concerns at Champs:

• Parking is limited. Carpooling is encouraged.
• LPAC will set up 10 Team EZ Ups for our Penguins and Families.
• Families will NOT be permitted to set up their own EZ Ups.
• Space is very limited at Gunderson, so plan to squeeze in tight!
• When the morning session ends and the afternoon session begins, the LPAC EZ Ups will remain in place, to shelter our team.
• Families with swimmers only in the morning session, will need to leave when it concludes, to make room for families in the afternoon session.
• Food Trucks will be on site:
  • Tea-Up, Waffle Amore, 3 Hermanos – Breakfast burritos and lunch offerings
• Big buddies will not be available to help little buddies get to their events, so parents will need to stay on top of their children.
• No photography or videography in the locker rooms or bathrooms.
• No photography or videography from the diving end of the pool. Parents must film and take pictures from the opposite end of the pool.
• All high point awards will be celebrated at the Banquet.
• Go PENGUINS! Just like at dual meets, improvement counts for 50% of the score at Champs. Every Penguin can make a difference!

Spaghetti Dinner on July 15th

SPAGHETTI DINNER POT LUCK

High School aged swimmers, who have completed their Freshman year of High School or older, are invited to “carbo-load” with their teammates at the Spaghetti Dinner. All families are invited to bring their cars to the church parking lot, closest to the pool parking lot at 6:30pm, to have their cars decorated.

• Time: 6:00 to 6:30 pm, followed by car decorating with buddies. Everyone is invited to decorate cars to show their Penguin Pride.

End of Season Banquet on July 17th Payments for Additional Meals are Due!
