LPAC: Raft Trip Update
Dear Penguins and Parents:
If you are interested in either buying or selling Raft Trip seats, we have created a Raft Trip Exchange Spreadsheet where you can list your name as either a buyer or a seller, so that interested families can contact one another to buy/sell seats directly.
If you are going on the Raft Trip, don’t forget to complete your waiver forms for each person who will be rafting and turn in forms to the “ACTIVITIES” folder by June 25th.
Raft Trip Exchange Spreadsheet***Email from Sunshine Rafting – July 4th Weekend Conditions Update
Hi Rafters,
We hope you are all looking forward to your July rafting trip! We recently received updated projections from the state regarding flows, and we wanted to keep you and your group up to date!
Flows over July 4th Weekend (July 1-4) are projected to be at 750CFS!
This is a fairly “normal” flow, and is no longer in the high flow category. We do recommend you know how to swim, children need to be 5 or older, and you need one adult per child in your group! You can find detailed flow breakdowns here.
Alcohol is NOT banned at this flow, but we do have some updated rules around alcohol:
1) Hard alcohol is not allowed on board our rafts
2) Groups are allowed one 60-quart ice chest per raft. ALL adult beverages must go into this ice chest. Groups that bring alcohol in backpacks, bags, or otherwise will be forced to put all of those beverages in their ice chest, or can be turned away. This is done to limit the number of adult beverages per raft, in an attempt to reduce groups from consuming excessive amounts of alcohol.
Do note that projections CAN change. If they do change, we will reach out as soon as we have updated information. These decisions are made at the state level, and we simply pass information along as it is passed to us.
If you have any questions, feel free to give us a call between 10:00AM and 4:00PM 7 days a week at 209-848-4800.

CARDBOARD BOAT RACES: SATURDAY, JUNE 24
The Penguin Regatta Cardboard Boat Races take place during the Overnighter, starting at 6:00 pm. All penguins are encouraged to team up with their swim team friends to construct a sea-worthy vessel using only cardboard, duct tape, and paint.
Depending on the number of entries, there may be several heats to determine the overall champion. Unofficial prizes will also be awarded for the best boat theme and the most spectacular sink.
Parents are welcome to stay and cheer. Please be prepared to take home the remains of any boats that you bring. There is not enough room in the Los Paseos dumpster for all the soggy shipwrecks! See the Cardboard Boat Races page of our website for more information.

- Boats will be raced in the pool. Each heat will be 50 yards (two lengths of the pool). Depending on the number of entries, your boat may have to survive multiple heats.

- Materials allowed:
- Cardboard or paper (no plastic, waxed cardboard, or waterproof cardboard)
- Duct tape, or any type of packaging tape
