Here are some quick reminders before our meet against Montevideo tomorrow. With only one month left of LPAC there is going to be a lot of information in these emails. Please read through to find important information. Find out about Cardboard Boat rules. Information about Overnighter. Bring your “A” game for Splash & Dash. Information on Champs food.   • Date: Saturday, June 28, 2025
  • Pool Gates will open at 6:10 am 
  • Time: LPAC swimmers need to check in by 6:30 am
  • The meet starts at 7:45 am and generally ends around 1:30pm.

  • Please check the Montevideo page for volunteer assignments.

END OF SEASON GIFTS FOR COACHES

Judy Seps, the LPAC photographer, will be collecting contributions for coaches gifts at the meet on June 28th. As a reminder we do have 7 coaches this year. You may contribute with cash, check(made out to Judy Seps) or Venmo @judyseps (last four digits of her phone number are 3532). All funds will be pooled together to purchase gift cards. We will present the gift cards and Thank You cards to each coach at the LPAC banquet. Judy will be accepting monetary gifts for coaches until July 12(Belwood Meet).

CARDBOARD BOAT RACES: TOMMOROW, JUNE 28 BEFORE THE OVERNIGHTER

It isn’t too late to team up with friends and build a cardboard boat. They need to be completed by 5:45 pm. We need all of the sea worthy vessels at the sportscourt, enter through the back gate by the parking lot, at 5:45 pm. Instructions for this fun event are on the Cardboard Boat Races page on our website.

The Race will start at 6:30 pm. Depending on the number of entries, there may be several heats to determine the overall champion. Unofficial prizes will also be awarded for the best boat theme and the most spectacular sink.

Parents are welcome to stay and cheer. Please be prepared to take home the remains of any boats that you bring. There is not enough room in the Los Paseos dumpster for all the soggy shipwrecks! Parents must leave after signing swimmer in for overnighter with a boat.

OVERNIGHTER: TOMORROW,  JUNE 28, 2025

If your swimmer is spending the night, tents can be put up at 6:00 pm while waiting for the Cardboard Boat Race to start. Penguins should bring dry clothes, swim suits, and towels. The annual Overnighter is one of LPAC’s most treasured traditions and a highlight of every swim team season. LPAC swimmers get to camp out in tents on the grass next to the Los Paseos pool and stay up late swimming, dancing, playing dodge ball, and just having fun with their friends. Last change to Register your swimmer(s): 2025 Overnighter Registration
TONIGHT at 8:00 pm the registration will be turned off.
So far we have 129 Penguins signed up for the Overnighter. If you haven’t signed up your penguin yet please do so ASAP. Your penguin won’t want to miss this.
You must register your swimmer if they are staying the entire night or if they are leaving at 10 pm. You are giving us a headcount to figure out how much food we need.

SPLASH & DASH: JULY 1, 2025

It is just about that time of year again. Time to start getting all of those pledges for the 2025 Splash & Dash! All proceeds benefit LPAC and help pay for things like updating the LPAC container, reimbursement for the new LPAC flag, new flippers for practices, new speakers for Starters and new printer for computer team to use at meets. This year we have had a bunch of equipment that we have had to purchase for the team that was unexpected. We need your help to keep LPAC’s budget on track.

  • Please go to the Splash & Dash page and sign up to volunteer to be a Penguin Lap Counter for the morning of the Splash & Dash Tuesday, July 1. Volunteer for the practice of your swimmer or swimmers or for all morning. If you can stay for your swimmer’s practice time please sign up to help.
  • If your swimmer is going to the night practice of Tuesday July 1st, please plan to stay and help count laps.
  • Check your family folder for a Splash & Dash Pledge Sheet for your swimmer. If you have multiple swimmers you may want to print out extra Pledge Sheets. There are a few extra Splash & Dash Pledge Sheets in the Splash & Dash folder at the back of the family file folders.
  • Prizes for Swim-A-Thon will be distributed during Spirit Night to the swimmers that bring in donations

2025 LPAC COMMUNITY BOOK

Help your fellow penguin families get to know you and your swimmer(s)!  Add your family picture to the 2025 LPAC Community Book, add your swimmer’s names and ages along with some fun family facts to a slide. This is a fun way to get to know all of the families on the team. A volunteer parent photographer will also be available at the swim meets to take quick pictures for you. 

CHAMPS INFORMATION

  1. Pre-order Lunch for Champs– Order from Mr Pickles Form by July 7 to help support the Valley Cabana Swim League and help us keep the price of Champs down. Pay our LPAC treasurer by either check (made out to LPAC and put in the treasurer folder in the back of the family folders) or pay through Zelle using the email treasurer@swimlpac.org. We will make sure that you have paid before giving order to VCSL. 
  2. Champs Ad Timeline; Put together your Champs ad for your swimmer(s) by July 8th. Instructions for Champs Ads are on the Champs page of our website.

LPAC: Urgent info about Champs Deadlines around the corner

Dear Penguin Community,

CHAMPS is FAST approaching, this message is to help families prepare. The Valley Cabana Swim League, the league that LPAC is part of, has to pay to use the Morgan Hill Aquatics Center. They have to pay for over 700 ribbons and trophies for the top teams. The two items in this email will help the league with off setting the costs for CHAMPS. Mr. Pickles Sandwich shop gives a percentage of how much they make the day of Champs back to the league and Champ Ads are priced so that the league gets a portion of the proceeds. Help LPAC by purchasing these so that we and all of the other teams do not have to pay the full cost of going to Champs.

~ PRE-ORDER CHAMPS FOOD NOW ~

Champs is a long hot day, and it is nice to have your food planned out. The league has partnered with Mr. Pickles to have a lunch delivered to the Morgan Hill Aquatic Center for CHAMPS attendees.  We must prepay for our Mr. Pickles meals.  Fill out the Mr. Pickles formhere and pre-payment is due by Saturday July 7 to the family file folder box under the treasurer’s folder or via zelle with the email treasurer@swimlpac.org.  

Family file folder boxes are out at every practice and will be out at our meet at Montevideo on Saturday 6/28 at the ribbons table. 
 

~ CHAMPS ADS TIMELINE ~

Purchase your Champs Ads before July 8 .Champs Ads go in the Valley Cabana League Program that will be available for purchase on the day of Champs. It is a nice way to tell your swimmer “Great Job this year”, they are especially nice for our age-outs. A little note from the parents with a picture of them when they were a little penguin and now as a grown up penguin.

Champs Programs will be in black and white. Ads are placed by team in the Program. Here is an example of a Champs Ad from Montevideo.

Pricing is as follows:

1/8 of a page: $12.50 (send in vertical layout)

1/4 of a page: $25.00 (send in either horizontal or vertical layout)

1/2 of a page: $50.00 (most commonly used for aging out swimmers – send in horizontal layout)

Full Page: $100.00 (most commonly used for aging out swimmers)

LPAC: Weekly Updates  6/23/2025

Dear Penguins Big and Small,

Awesome swimming on Saturday! LPAC triumphed over Oaktree with a score of 108(Oaktree) to 118(LPAC). Way to go LPAC! Let’s keep up this momentum. We are now 2 wins 1 loss in our Dual Meets. 

Thank you to everyone for participating in our special LPAC Sweatshirt Raffle. We made a total of $245 from Saturday’s raffle. The two winners for the LPAC sweatshirt were Aiden D. and Parker H. Parker’s family are going to share the sweatshirt. 

 Julia is busy making a sweatshirt for Aiden.. As soon as we get pictures of Aiden I will upload them.

We want to thank LPAC as a team for helping us with all of the fundraisers for ALS. It is an important cause. Between the two raffle’s, ALS bracelets and the Penny Wars, LPAC has raised a total of $2,514.33 for the ALS Therapy Development Institiute. Thank you  for your help in this. As a team, penguins can do anything!

All penguins are encouraged to team up with their swim team friends to construct a sea-worthy vessel using only cardboard, duct tape, and paint. Penguins have one week left to construct their Cardboard boats. Instructions for this fun event are on the Cardboard Boat Races page on our website.

Depending on the number of entries, there may be several heats to determine the overall champion. Unofficial prizes will also be awarded for the best boat theme and the most spectacular sink.

We heard that the LPAC Middle School Age Group had an incredible time at LaserMaxx on Monday. All of the Penguins had so much fun, not only the kids. The Coaches had a great time as well.

We need to thank Lynette Gill for organizing this great community building event for our Middle School Penguins to enjoy. If you would like to set up a fun age group event for your kid’s age group please email info@swimlpac.org.

Get ready for a day of sun, fun, and river excitement
with your LPAC family!

LPAC: Weekly Updates 6/16/2025

Dear Penguin Community,,

We hope that everyone had a great Father’s Day weekend and celebrated all of the wonderful men in our kiddos lives.

Great swimming on Saturday! LPAC got their first win of the season and defeated the Silver Creek Sharks with a score of 109.9(Sharks) to…. (drumroll, please) 123.9(LPAC). Your penguins should be very proud of themselves. Way to Go Penguins!

A great big thank you to all of the parents who were ready to do a parent relay at our meet. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to have a parent relay at our Silver Creek meet. Hopefully next meet we can squeeze one in. 

A note from Coach Julia: “The level of Team Spirit and cheering  that we have had at the last couple of meets has been awesome. Let’s keep the Penguin Power flowing!”

OAK TREE @ LPAC: SATURDAY, JUNE 21

JUNE 9 – JULY 18
  • High School: 6:45–7:45/8:15 am*
  • 11-14: 7:45–8:45/9:15 am*
  • 8-10: 8:45–9:30 am
  • 7 & under: 9:30–10:15 am

Please arrive on time and ready to swim!

  • *Swimmers ages 11 and up have 30 minutes of dryland exercises immediately following their regular practice times on three mornings a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Please bring running shoes on those days.**Swimmers who are unable to attend morning practice because of summer school or work commitments may attend night practices, on Tuesday and Thursday from 8:00-9:00 pm. Ages 10 & under 8-8:45 pm on one side of the pool and Ages 11-18 8-9 pm on the other side of the pool. Limited space available in these practices. Swimmers must have coaches’ prior permission to attend night practices. Email coaches @ coaches@swimlpac.org
