To understand our desicion to lock the gate during practices please refer to email from LPAC on 6/24.

Calling all Penguin Parents!!!  Two more volunteers are needed for the breakfast on June 28 and we need helpful parents to be on our clean up crew for the morning. The clean up crew makes sure there is no trash left in the grass, takes out the garbage and makes sure the teenagers put back the lounge chairs  The board members are absolutely exhausted after staying up all night to watch over all of the swimmers, we are of no use in the morning. Please help the Overnighter be great! Volunteer by clicking the link and filling your name in a highlighted vacant spot. Thank you for your support. We can not do it without you. CARDBOARD BOAT RACES:
JUNE 27 RIGHT BEFORE THE OVERNIGHTER

Date & Time:  Saturday, June 27, 2026 at 6:00PM – 7:30PM
Location:  LPAC Pool and Sports Court

Overview: This is LPAC’s Annual Cardboard Regatta where swimmers team up to creatively build cardboard boats to race against other teams. There will be multiple categories awards where the boats can be voted.

It is important to stay on schedule as following the boat races will be the Overnighter Event.

LPAC likes to envisage creativity and fun. That being said there are a few safety instructions that we need to publish:

1. Every swimmer and parent must follow coaches’ and official’s instructions at all times
2. No physical contact of other swimmers or other boats during races.
3. When using water guns you must not aim at faces (eyes, nose, and mouth)
4. All cardboard boats must be taken home by parents before the Overnighter. We can not dump them into the LPAC dumpsters or garbage cans. Take them home and recycle them.

It’s that time of year again—time to start collecting pledges for the 2026 Splash & Dash! All proceeds directly benefit LPAC and help fund important equipment updates and improvements, including:

  • A new starter battery
  • A new digital or analog pace clock for practices

  • A new—or gently loved—deep freezer for the kitchen with a lid that actually works!
  • We need new microphones for our Announcer’s sound system.

We appreciate your support in helping us raise funds for these important needs. Plus, there are lots of fun prizes for swimmers who participate and collect donations!

CHAMPS INFORMATION

This year we will not be pre ordering our lunch like we have done in the past. So far there have been 5 food trucks and 2 ice cream trucks scheduled for Champs @ Leigh High School on July 18.

Plan on bringing your own food for the whole day. There is not fast food restaurants nearby Leigh High School and there will most likely be long lines at the food trucks. If you do choose to stand in line please be aware of your swimmer’s races and the time needed to get them to the clerk of the course so they do not miss a race.

Keep your eyes open for a list of the food trucks in upcoming newsletters and there will be more Champs information rolling in!
