Good evening LPAC families,
To help maintain a safe, secure, and well-organized practice environment, the pool gate will be locked, not left ajar, during morning practices effective immediately.
Today during swim lessons after 10:15am a homeless man came into the pool via the open gate, stopped in the women’s restroom and took the soap dispenser on the sink and then went into the men’s restroom took that soap dispenser and emptied both while they took a shower and left a bag of clothes in the men’s shower.
We want to err on the side of caution. The Coaches can not keep track of opening the locked gate. We ask that your swimmer be early/on time to practice. We are also asking that a parent volunteer to be at the gate during the beginning for each age group practice. We only need 3 parent volunteers a day. Without a parent sign up, the board will need to cancel the age group practice out of safety and caution.
We have tomorrow Thursday 6/25 covered. The sign up begins Friday. If you can get to the pool 10 minutes before your swimmer’s practice begins and man the gate or if you always stay during practice, and would consider signing up to man the gate for 10 minutes before and maybe 5-10 minutes after the next practice begins that would be amazing.
