CARDBOARD BOAT RACES: TOMMOROW, JUNE 28 BEFORE THE OVERNIGHTER

It isn’t too late to team up with friends and build a cardboard boat. They need to be completed by 5:45 pm. We need all of the sea worthy vessels at the sportscourt, enter through the back gate by the parking lot, at 5:45 pm. Instructions for this fun event are on the Cardboard Boat Races page on our website.

The Race will start at 6:30 pm. Depending on the number of entries, there may be several heats to determine the overall champion. Unofficial prizes will also be awarded for the best boat theme and the most spectacular sink.

Parents are welcome to stay and cheer. Please be prepared to take home the remains of any boats that you bring. There is not enough room in the Los Paseos dumpster for all the soggy shipwrecks! Parents must leave after signing swimmer in for overnighter with a boat.

OVERNIGHTER: TOMORROW,  JUNE 28, 2025

If your swimmer is spending the night, tents can be put up at 6:00 pm while waiting for the Cardboard Boat Race to start. Penguins should bring dry clothes, swim suits, and towels. The annual Overnighter is one of LPAC’s most treasured traditions and a highlight of every swim team season. LPAC swimmers get to camp out in tents on the grass next to the Los Paseos pool and stay up late swimming, dancing, playing dodge ball, and just having fun with their friends. More information on the Overnighter page.

Last change to Register your swimmer(s): 2025 Overnighter Registration
TONIGHT at 8:00 pm the registration will be turned off.
So far we have 129 Penguins signed up for the Overnighter. If you haven’t signed up your penguin yet please do so ASAP. Your penguin won’t want to miss this.
You must register your swimmer if they are staying the entire night or if they are leaving at 10 pm. You are giving us a headcount to figure out how much food we need.

SPLASH & DASH: JULY 1, 2025

It is just about that time of year again. Time to start getting all of those pledges for the 2025 Splash & Dash! All proceeds benefit LPAC and help pay for things like updating the LPAC container, reimbursement for the new LPAC flag, new flippers for practices, new speakers for Starters and new printer for computer team to use at meets. This year we have had a bunch of equipment that we have had to purchase for the team that was unexpected. We need your help to keep LPAC’s budget on track.

  • Please go to the Splash & Dash page and sign up to volunteer to be a Penguin Lap Counter for the morning of the Splash & Dash Tuesday, July 1. Volunteer for the practice of your swimmer or swimmers or for all morning. If you can stay for your swimmer’s practice time please sign up to help.
  • If your swimmer is going to the night practice of Tuesday July 1st, please plan to stay and help count laps.
  • Check your family folder for a Splash & Dash Pledge Sheet for your swimmer. If you have multiple swimmers you may want to print out extra Pledge Sheets. There are a few extra Splash & Dash Pledge Sheets in the Splash & Dash folder at the back of the family file folders.
  • Prizes for Swim-A-Thon will be distributed during Spirit Night to the swimmers that bring in donations
