LPAC Penguins swim faster than sharks! Score: LPAC 107.2  vs SVCC 105.3

It was a very close swim meet, but we were still able to pull off the win with lots of hard work.

This week the coaches will be working on Freestyle Focus Points at practice. This is just another way to help each penguin gain some speed! There is also an optional Dive Clinic on Friday morning. Details listed below.

For those of you rafting on the weekend, be safe and have lots of fun! Who will be the King of the River?

Here is what is happening this week:

Practice Schedule for the week of July 1st:

Monday ~ Wednesday, standard morning and evening practice times/groups.
Thursday, July 4th, no practice all day & evening
Friday July 5th, Optional Dive Clinic

5 ~ 11 age group 9:00 AM ~ 9:30 AM
11 ~ 18 age group 9:30 AM ~ 10:00 AM

Age Group Community Service Project:

  • 8 & Unders, Wednesday July 3rd
  • 9 ~ 11 age group, Wednesday July 10:
    • After practice Los Paseos Park cleanup: we will be removing weeds around the Martin Murphy track and picking up trash as we go. You may want to bring work gloves.
    • Community Service and Fun will be completed at 11:30 AM

Fund Raisers to sign up for!

Step 1:  You must RSVP at https://www.groupraise.com/events/96929  by July 8th, this helps Mod ensure they have enough materials for the extra patrons. We must have at least 20 reservations by that date as well. (We currently have 10) You can always bring extra friends out to dinner too on the day of the event.

Step 2:  Print flyer here AND present to the Cashier when you are paying for your meal. Remind them this is a group raise event.

Step 3: Enjoy the evening knowing 20% of your bill goes to LPAC and helps the team keep our fees low.

Time to collect those Swim-A-Thon Pledges!

This year 96 Penguins collectively swam 8,052 laps in about an hour or less. That is 201,300 yards or 114.37 miles! Now it is time to collect those pledges and if you have not yet started to find those Family & Friend supporters, there is still time to do it. Download your pledge form and start collecting today. Turn in your proceeds to the SWIM-A-THON folder no later than Monday, July 15th to be eligible for prizes!

    1. If you plan on attending the banquet, including your swimmers, you must register here. All information is detailed with on-line registration.

Beach Trip Saturday July 13:

  1. High Schoolers must be registered for the beach trip at Beach Trip Registration by July 10.
  2. We are also looking for drivers, if you can help please note that in the registration form of your swimmer.
  3. DONATIONS NEEDED: we are in need of some wood to burn, if you have this type of item and would like to donate, please contact Dave Blacow at (408) 981-1247 or dasblacows@comcast.net to coordinate the wood drop off.
