We hope you are ready to face the Oaktree Sharks tomorrow. There’s a lot of important information in this email, so please read carefully!


 

LPAC @ Oaktree on June 18th

Just some quick reminders before our meet tomorrow, June 18th:

  • Pool gates open at 7:00 am.
  • Swimmers and parents need to check in before 7:30 am. Please be on time!
  • Meet starts at 8:30 am
  • If your child is sick, please call or text Coach Scott’s cell phone: 408-613-5126.
  • Meet entries and volunteer assignments have been posted to the LPAC @ Oaktree page on the website.
  • Location: Oaktree Swim Club, Chrismara Ct At Castello Dr., San Jose, California, 95120
  • No unloading or parking at red painted corners. Please be considerate of the surrounding neighbors and do not block any driveways.
  • Our team area is on the grass under the big tree. Space will be limited, so please plan to squeeze in tight and share your EZ Ups!
  • If you are timing or recording, please wear sunscreen and bring a hat. Only one side of the pool is shaded, and it gets very hot.

Message From Our Volunteer Coordinators

Dear Parent Volunteers:

  • Check your Volunteer Assignments and check in by 7:30 am for your volunteer shift for the Oaktree Meet on June 18th.
  • If you cannot check in by 7:30 am, please text Cecie at 408-910-5611
  • If you have not signed up to help clean up at one home meet, please choose from one of the following dates and sign up when you check in: June 25 and Champs on July 16.

Overnighter and Cardboard Boat Races on June 18th

Overnighter and Cardboard Boat Regatta!

  1. To keep the Overnighter safe and fun, we suggest that parents do a rapid COVID test on their kids, due to the indoor activities and tent sharing.
  2. For general information, please visit the Overnighter and Cardboard Boat Races pages on the website.
  3. Many families have NOT signed up for the Overnighter. If you plan to send your swimmers, you must register today! Overnighter Registration.
  4. Timeline:
    • 5:15 pm: Drop-off your Cardboard Boat Creations at the Bocce Ball Court.
    • 6:00 pm: Cardboard Boat Races* begin. Families are welcome to watch. (*Take your soggy boat remains home!)
    • 6:00 pm: Families may begin setting up tents.
    • 7:00 pm: Sign your swimmer(s) in for the Overnighter.
    • 10:00 pm: Children under 7 years old must be picked up.
    • 8:00 am Sunday morning: Pick up your children.

COVID-19 Policy

  • Please keep your swimmers home if they have symptoms or if they test positive for COVID-19.
  • Following a positive COVID-19 test, please keep your swimmer isolated for 5 days, as per the CDHP guidelines.

Registration Deadline for Raft Trip is TODAY, Friday, June 17th.

  • The cost is $39/person, be sure total paid reflects the number of people who are attending.
  • Print and sign separate waiver forms for each person who will be rafting and turn in forms to the “ACTIVITIES” folder by June 25th.

Picture Day on June 21st

All swimmers should wear the current team swim suit or a solid black suit for picture day. For more information, please visit the Picture Day page on our website.

  • Date: Tuesday, June 21, 2022
    • Association members individual photos start at 8:00 am
    • All swimmers should be at the pool by 8:45 am to take team picture at 9:00 am
    • Remaining individual photos can be taken after the team picture
  • Location: Los Paseos Pool
  • Cost: None, unless you want to purchase additional prints or buddy pictures

Penguin Pool Party on June 22nd

PENGUIN POOL PARTY

All LPAC swimmers are invited to come enjoy a fun pool party with their penguin pals. We’ll also have root beer floats and make tie-dye shirts to show our penguin pride!

  • Date: June 22, 2022
  • Time: 3:30 pm – 5:30 pm; Must check in by 4:30 pm at the latest to do tie-dye!
  • Cost:
    • No charge for Association members
    • Non-members: $1/child, $2/adult
  • Swimmers will be provided with a Penguin shirt to tie-dye.
  • Parents of swimmers 12 and under, please plan to stay during this event

Help your fellow penguin families get to know you! Fill out this survey and add your family picture to the 2022 LPAC Community Book. A volunteer parent photographer will also be available at the swim meets to take quick pictures for you.
