Meet Details

• Date: Saturday, July 9, 2022
• Pool Gates Open at 7:00 am
• Time: LPAC swimmers and parent volunteers must check in by 7:10 am.
• The meet starts at 8:30 am and generally ends around 12:30 pm
• If your child is sick, please call or text Coach Scott’s cell phone: 408-613-5126.

• Meet Entries and Volunteer Assignments have been posted to the Silver Creek page.
• Team Area: When you enter the pool area, the left side of the facility is available for LPAC. There is limited room, so we will have to squeeze in tight and share EZ Ups!

**IMPORTANT CHAMPS INFO**

Champs is going to look different this year! It will be a split event:

• Swimmers age 11 and up, race during the morning session
• Swimmers age 10 and under, race during the afternoon session.
• Every family MUST participate as a volunteer. It is the only way to make Champs successful!

Parents are required to sign up for a volunteer shift during your child’s swim session. If you have children swimming in both the morning and afternoon, you need to sign up for a volunteer shift during both morning and afternoon sessions.

This is the final practice of the season. Show your Penguin spirit!

Spirit Night on Thursday, July 14th

Spirit Night is on Thursday, July 14th. Parents are required to attend and learn about the New Champs Setup, while your swimmers enjoy, pizza, spirit posters and electing their new swimmer representatives. More details to come next week.

LPAC Raft Trip Information

Raft trip Saturday, July 2, 2022

If you have fireworks and are planning to stay, please bring some to share at dark. 

Jennie’s cell number is 408-896-1517.

Meet at 18210 Sonora Road, Knights Ferry, CA (1800 covered bridge rd. according to apple maps).  Please arrive early at 8:30, so we can walk down to launch at 9am.  

• Jennie Anderson will turn in all waivers and then receive wristbands.  No waiver, no wristband. We are a group reservation so we need to all be present in order for our trip to begin.   

• We can stop at Horseshoe park for lunch which is about halfway.  

• When we get off the rafts we wait for shuttles to bring us back to the parking lot.  Before heading home or into Oakdale for the night, many LPAC families like to stop at the Knights Ferry Creamery 17631 Sonora Rd, Knights Ferry, CA 95361 for a treat.

• If you plan on staying in Oakdale for the night, I would like to suggest that we meet at dinner time at Backwoods Burgers – 1214 W F St, Oakdale, CA 95361

Backwoods Burgers has family style seating and we order at the counter so we don’t need to wait for a server.  There are TV’s with sports and news and many LPAC families can be together.  But there are many other delicious restaurants in Oakdale, feel free to explore.

• After dinner an ultimate frisbee game may be taking place for the high school group at Brennan Park on Pedersen Rd.  The coaches or swimmer reps will post on Remind. 

• Finally, at dark we meet for fireworks (if anyone was able to procure fireworks) on East Ave between the Motel 6 and Apostolic Assembly By- Faith.  I’ll bring a bucket and lighters.

LPAC High School Beach Trip on Saturday, July 9th

Dear Penguins and Parents:

All swimmers in the high school age group are invited to come on the Beach Trip to Twin Lakes State Beach in Santa Cruz on Saturday, July 9th. We play on the beach, take a lot of photos, enjoy a BBQ dinner, then build a bonfire and roast marshmallows for s’mores. Plan to meet at the pool at 4:30 pm to arrange carpools. Note that we need parent chaperones to drive and help with the event. Please see form for more information.

1. High Schoolers and chaperones must be registered for the beach trip at Beach Trip Registration by July 5th.
2. If you can help with carpooling, please note that in the registration form of your swimmer.

We would love to have a parent relay at the end of our meet tomorrow. We need 5 swimmers who are willing to take the plunge and swim for fun, against a team of Almaden Gator parents, in a freestyle relay. Reach out to Jennie Anderson if you are interested in swimming on the parent relay team!

Raft Trip: Waivers due on June 25th

RAFT TRIP: All people attending the Raft Trip MUST fill out a waiver form.

Back by popular demand!  This year we are going to raffle off excursions with the coaches.

But, wait!  There is a special grand prize excursion …..an ESCAPE room adventure!  Each ticket for this drawing will be $5.00.  The winning swimmer and 4 friends/family members along with a coach (of their choosing) will try to figure out how to escape from a jail in the Wild West while the sheriff is out on a ride.  You will have 60 minutes to strategize and complete the task!  Great fun for all ages!  (located in San Jose!)

**All funds raised go towards the goal of buying the LPAC Snack Shack new kitchen equipment.
