LPAC: Weekly Update (7/3/23)

Dear Penguins and Parents:

We only have one more dual meet this weekend before we face the entire league at CHAMPS! Keep coming to practice and read this email for important information about the remaining two weeks of the season.

NO PRACTICE ON TUESDAY, JULY 4!

Enjoy your Independence Day! There will be no practice on Tuesday, July 4th.

WILL YOU BE AT THE MEET THIS SATURDAY, JULY 8?

  • If your swimmer will have to miss all or part of the next meet on July 8 against Belwood, please send an email NOW to coaches@swimlpac.org and volunteers@swimlpac.org.
  • The swimmers that we alreay know will be missing are: Nia V, Quinn G., Rachel H., Hudson C., Elliott C., Alex O., Ava O., Coen B., AJ P., Marcus F., Julia P., Mark E., Isabel M., Tidus J., Oliven K.

SPAGHETTI DINNER: FRIDAY, JULY 14
The night before Champs, all High School aged swimmers, who have completed their Freshman year of High School or older, are invited to “carbo-load” with their teammates at the LPAC Spaghetti Dinner. We also decorate cars to show our penguin pride. All families are invited to bring their cars to the church parking lot, closest to the pool parking lot at 6:30pm, to have their cars decorated.

  • Time: 6:00 to 6:30 pm
  • Location: Los Paseos Clubhouse
  • Cost: None
  • Volunteers: We need parents to set up, bring food or drinks, serve, and/or help with clean-up.

BEACH TRIP REGISTRATION DEADLINE: WEDNESDAY, JULY 5

All swimmers in the high school age practice group are invited to attend the traditional Beach Trip to Twin Lakes State Beach in Santa Cruz.

  • Date: Saturday, July 8, 2023
  • Time: Meet at Los Paseos Pool at 4:30 pm
  • RSVP: Register by Wednesday, July 5th!
  • There will be a Zoom meeting on Wednesday, July 5th at 7pm to go over any questions and chaperone details.

BANQUET REGISTRATION DEADLINE: SUNDAY, JULY 9

Register for the Banquet before Sunday, July 9, 2023! All swimmer meals are included in your registration fees, but you still MUST register to receive a meal.

SWIMATHON PLEDGE SHEETS: DUE FRIDAY, JULY 7

Swim-a-thon pledge sheets and payments are due by Friday, July 7, 2023. Please put the pledge sheets and money in the Swim-a-thon folder in the family files.

FUNDRAISING: RAISE MONEY WITH KEYPOINT CREDIT UNION

To learn more about our wonderful Fundraising event with KeyPoint Credit Union with the potential to earn LPAC $1,500, please go to our Fundraising page. After your swimmer has completed the KeyPoint Credit Union financial wellness worksheet, at least one parent must accompany their swimmer (if under 18) into KeyPoint Credit Union, 7030 Santa Teresa Blvd. Suite 10, to turn in the form.

LPAC BOARD ELECTIONS: JULY 13, 2023

2024 LPAC Board elections will be held during Spirit Night.
Please consider adding your name to the ballot and join our LPAC board. The governing board hires coaches, and plans and executes our events and traditions. Please consider volunteering. If interested please email your name, to be printed on the ballot, to: info@swimlpac.org.

END OF SEASON GIFTS FOR COACHES

Judy Seps is continuing to collect contributions until Spirit Night on July 13th. You may contribute with cash, check, or Venmo @judyseps (last four digits of her phone number are 3532). All funds will be pooled together to purchase gift cards. We will present the gift cards and Thank You cards to each coach at the LPAC banquet.

LOST AND FOUND: CLAIM YOUR ITEMS BY JULY 10, 2023

We have accumulated many items in the LPAC Lost and Found. Lost and Found items will be brought out daily for you to dig through. Anything not collected by July 10 will be donated. Please see the pictures below to see the current items in Lost and Found.
