Great swimming on Saturday. LPAC defeated Montevideo by a score of 136.7 to 100.9. Meet results have been posted to the Montevideo page on our website. Go Penguins! Next up, we face the Oaktree Sharks on Saturday, June 18th.

Dear Parent Volunteers:
If you are going to miss all or any part of our next meet on Saturday, June 18th, please email the volunteers@swimlpac.org ASAP.
We are looking for Parent Volulnteers to help with the Overnighter on June 18th. We need help for the Overnighter to be a success! Without your help, we cannot bring you all the actvities that our Penguins love. The LPAC board remains at the pool all night to organize and run the event, but can’t do everything for all 150 kids. Please help make this a successful event. We need electric skillets with spatulas, help with meals, set up, and clean up. If you plan on sending your kids to the Overnighter and can help with this fun Penguin Tradition, then please sign up, using the following button:

Overnighter on June 18th!

The Overnighter Is Back!
It’s been a few years since we’ve had the Overnighter, so we wanted to remind everyone of the Overnighter rules.
Overnighter Rules
- Swimmers can not leave after they are checked in, unless picked up by a parent or guardian.
- No excessive horseplay, rough-housing, or destructive behavior will be tolerated.
- The Association pool rules will be enforced at all times.
- Swimmers will not be allowed to possess any medications. Any medications must be administered by a parent or guardian.
- Parents/guardians must leave emergency contact numbers where they can be reached at any time during the overnight event.
- No radios, boom boxes, or TV’s can be brought to the overnight event (iPods and cell phones are okay).
- No guests will be allowed.
- Please do not send your child if he or she is ill.
- Lawn chairs around the pool are reserved for the high school age group. This group sleeps on the chairs outside of tents.
LPAC Board members stay the night and take shifts to be sure children are supervised at all times. Children must be 7 or older to spend the night. Swimmers age 6 and under are welcome to attend but must be picked up by 10:00 pm Saturday night.

Cardboard Boat Races on June 18th!

Cardboard Boat Races
The Penguin Regatta Cardboard Boat Races take place during the Overnighter on June 18th, starting at 6:00 pm. All penguins are encouraged to team up with their swim team friends to construct a sea-worthy vessel using only cardboard, duct tape, and paint.
Depending on the number of entries, there may be several heats to determine the overall champion. Unofficial prizes will also be awarded for the best boat theme and the most spectacular sink.
Parents are welcome to stay and cheer. Please be prepared to take home the remains of any boats that you bring. There is not enough room in the Los Paseos dumpster for all the soggy shipwrecks!
Penguin Regatta Notes
- Please drop off your cardboard boat creations at the Bocce Ball Courts at 5:15 pm on Saturday, June 18th.
- Boats will be raced in the pool. Each heat will be 50 yards (two lengths of the pool). Depending on the number of entries, your boat may have to survive multiple heats.
- Boats must be human-powered. There is no limit to the number of crew members on each boat.
- Materials allowed:
- Cardboard or paper (no plastic, waxed cardboard, or waterproof cardboard)
- Duct tape, or any type of packaging tape
- Adhesive products such as Liquid Nails for gluing the boat together
- Water- or acrylic-based paint
- Paddles are allowed but must also be made out of cardboard and duct tape.
- Please take home the remains of your boat at the end of the races!

Raft Trip
The Raft Trip is a wet and wild LPAC family event that will take place on July 2nd, during our “bye” weekend for the Fourth of July Holiday. We reserve rafts for what is usually a slow, gentle ride down the scenic Stanislaus River. Small rapids add to the excitement, but are tame enough for first-time rafters. Penguins and parents are welcome to join in the fun!

Swimming is a Family Sport. We need all our Penguin Families to do their part to make each swim meet run smoothly. Parent support is not only a requirement, it is part of our LPAC culture. Our swimmers would not have a swim season without our wonderful Parent Volunteer community.
Communication is key! As a Parent Volunteer, please make sure that you email the Volunteer Coordinators if you will miss all or part of any meet. If there is an emergency and you cannot make your shift, please text Cecie at 408-910-5611.

Overnighter on June 18th!

The Overnighter Is Back!
We are happy to announce that the Overnighter is back!
The annual Overnighter is one of LPAC’s most treasured traditions and a highlight of every swim team season. LPAC swimmers get to camp out in tents on the grass next to the Los Paseos pool and stay up late swimming, dancing, playing dodge ball, and just having fun with their friends.
LPAC Board members stay the night and take shifts to be sure children are supervised at all times. Children must be 7 or older to spend the night. Swimmers age 6 and under are welcome to attend but must be picked up by 10:00 pm Saturday night.
- Date: Saturday, June 18, 2022
- Times:

Memorial Day Clinic Today!

Memorial Day Swim Clinic
There are no regular team practices on Memorial Day (Monday, May 30th), but swimmers are invited to attend an optional Swim Clinic this morning from 9:00 to 10:30 am. The coaches will be working with small groups of kids on diving from the blocks, backstroke starts, pulldowns, and all types of turns. Swimmers who want to work on any of these skills are welcome to attend. Swimmers do not need to stay the whole time; they are welcome to drop in at any time and leave whenever they’d like.

Time Trial Make-Ups on May 31st

If your swimmers missed Time Trials on Saturday, it is mandatory they come to Make-Up Day on Tuesday, May 31st at 6:00 pm. Parents are expected to stay and volunteer as timers and recorders during Make-Up Day. Please arrive on time! Please note there will be no regular night practices on Tuesday, May 31st.
Practice Times Change Wednesday, June 1st

After Memorial Day, the pool is open to its members until 6:00 pm. This means that we have to compress our swim practices until school gets out on June 3rd. Please note the change in practice times, starting this Wednesday, June 1st. A previous email went out that listed the change in practice times differently, but this week’s practice times will proceed as follows.:
- 4-8 : 6:00–6:45 pm
- 9-11: 6:45-7:30 pm
- 12-14: 7:30-8:15 pm
- High School: 8:15-9:00 pm
