Parent Relay!
We would love to have a parent relay at the end of our meet tomorrow. We need 5 swimmers who are willing to take the plunge and swim for fun, against a team of Almaden Gator parents, in a freestyle relay. Reach out to Jennie Anderson if you are interested in swimming on the parent relay team!
Raft Trip: Waivers due on June 25th
RAFT TRIP: All people attending the Raft Trip MUST fill out a waiver form.
- Print and sign separate waiver forms for each person who will be rafting and turn in forms to the “ACTIVITIES” folder by June 25th.

Coaches Raffle is Back!
Back by popular demand! This year we are going to raffle off excursions with the coaches.
- Coach Julia & Coach Maddy- Petroglyph Ceramic Lounge. Paint a Ceramic of your choosing with your Coaches.
- Coach Lauren & Coach Emily- Glow Candle Lounge. Create Personalized Candles with your Coaches.
- Coach Scott & Coach Amanda- Golfland Outing. Enjoy a round of miniature golf with your Coaches.
Tickets will be given out for meeting the Laps goal set by the coaches during the Swim -A- Thon. Extra tickets will be $1.00 and will go on sale Saturday, July 9th during the Silver Creek meet. See Kelly Fumagalli for tickets! Drawing will be held during Spirit Night!
But, wait! There is a special grand prize excursion …..an ESCAPE room adventure! Each ticket for this drawing will be $5.00. The winning swimmer and 4 friends/family members along with a coach (of their choosing) will try to figure out how to escape from a jail in the Wild West while the sheriff is out on a ride. You will have 60 minutes to strategize and complete the task! Great fun for all ages! (located in San Jose!)
**All funds raised go towards the goal of buying the LPAC Snack Shack new kitchen equipment.

Great swimming on Saturday. LPAC defeated Oaktree with a final score of LPAC 112.2 and Oaktree 103.4. Go Penguins! Meet results have been posted to the website and ribbons are in the family files.

PENGUIN POOL PARTY
All LPAC swimmers are invited to come enjoy a fun pool party with their penguin pals. We’ll also have root beer floats and make tie-dye shirts to show our penguin pride!

LPAC swimmers, here’s your chance to help raise funds for the team while challenging yourself and getting a great workout. Collect pledges and then swim as many laps as you can to support LPAC and win prizes too! Visit the Swim-a-Thon page on our website for more information!
Details
How it Works
- Download and print Swim-a-thon 2022 Pledge Sheet.
- Collect pledges from your family, friends, and neighbors. They can pledge a flat dollar amount or an amount per lap.
- Come to practice and swim, swim, swim…as many laps as you can, of any stroke!
- The lap counter will give you a piece of paper with the total number of laps you swam.
- Collect pledges and turn in proceeds to the coaches table by Friday, July 8th to be eligible for prizes.

We hope you are ready to face the Oaktree Sharks tomorrow. There’s a lot of important information in this email, so please read carefully!
LPAC @ Oaktree on June 18th
Just some quick reminders before our meet tomorrow, June 18th:
- Pool gates open at 7:00 am.
- Swimmers and parents need to check in before 7:30 am. Please be on time!
- Meet starts at 8:30 am
- If your child is sick, please call or text Coach Scott’s cell phone: 408-613-5126.
- Meet entries and volunteer assignments have been posted to the LPAC @ Oaktree page on the website.
- Location: Oaktree Swim Club, Chrismara Ct At Castello Dr., San Jose, California, 95120
- No unloading or parking at red painted corners. Please be considerate of the surrounding neighbors and do not block any driveways.
- Our team area is on the grass under the big tree. Space will be limited, so please plan to squeeze in tight and share your EZ Ups!
- If you are timing or recording, please wear sunscreen and bring a hat. Only one side of the pool is shaded, and it gets very hot.

Overnighter and Cardboard Boat Races on June 18th
Overnighter and Cardboard Boat Regatta!
- To keep the Overnighter safe and fun, we suggest that parents do a rapid COVID test on their kids, due to the indoor activities and tent sharing.
- For general information, please visit the Overnighter and Cardboard Boat Races pages on the website.
- Many families have NOT signed up for the Overnighter. If you plan to send your swimmers, you must register today! Overnighter Registration.
- Timeline:
- 5:15 pm: Drop-off your Cardboard Boat Creations at the Bocce Ball Court.
- 6:00 pm: Cardboard Boat Races* begin. Families are welcome to watch. (*Take your soggy boat remains home!)
- 6:00 pm: Families may begin setting up tents.
- 7:00 pm: Sign your swimmer(s) in for the Overnighter.
- 10:00 pm: Children under 7 years old must be picked up.
- 8:00 am Sunday morning: Pick up your children.
COVID-19 Policy
- Please keep your swimmers home if they have symptoms or if they test positive for COVID-19.
- Following a positive COVID-19 test, please keep your swimmer isolated for 5 days, as per the CDHP guidelines.

Raft Trip
The Raft Trip is a wet and wild LPAC family event that will take place on July 2nd, during our “bye” weekend for the Fourth of July Holiday. We reserve rafts for what is usually a slow, gentle ride down the scenic Stanislaus River. Small rapids add to the excitement, but are tame enough for first-time rafters. Penguins and parents are welcome to join in the fun!

Discount for LPAC Families at Motel 6 in Oakdale
Lodging
If you’d like to stay over either Friday or Saturday night (or both), the team has traditionally stayed at the Motel 6 in Oakdale (825 East F Street). Members of our team will receive a discount when they mention LPAC or Los Paseos Aquatic Club. The discounted price is $121.49 + tax per night for a room with one king bed, or $125.99 + tax per night for a room with two queen beds. These rooms go quickly, so call 209-847-8181 and mention LPAC to make your reservations ASAP.
There are also other lodging options available. Directly across the street is the Holiday Inn Express (209-847-8181), and there is also a Best Western in town (209-845-2500). Each family is responsible for making their own hotel reservations and payments.
