CALLING ALL PENGUINS FOR 2024

LPAC: Weekly Update (5/13/24)

Dear Penguins and Parents:

We hope you all had fun at Penguin Madness! Week 3 of practice begins today.

FUNDRAISERS:

Swim 5 Miles to Help Fight Cancer!

This year LPAC swimmers have the chance to participate in two fundraisers.

#1 is our annual LPAC Swim-a-Thon, which will be held on June 18. All proceeds benefit LPAC and help pay for things like our new lane lines and backstroke flags. There are lots of fun prizes involved too; stay tuned for more details coming in June.

#2 is the Swim 5 Miles in May Challenge to benefit the American Cancer Society. All LPAC swimmers are invited to participate—and the coaches will be swimming too! Starting today, coaches will tell swimmers how many miles they swam at the end of each day’s practice. Swimmers can keep track of their progress to see if they get to 5 miles in the month of May. (Hint: If they come to practice regularly, they will!) Our team goal is to raise $1,000 for this challenge. If you would like to participate, please share the link with friends and family so they can support your swimming while donating to help fight cancer: https://www.justgiving.com/team/lpac2024

RAFT TRIP: JULY 6, 2024

Raft Trip registration is available now! Sign up now to ensure your spot for this cherished LPAC tradition. Registration deadline is June 22, 2024.

This is a wet and wild LPAC family event takes place every year on the Saturday of the Fourth of July holiday “bye” weekend. We reserve rafts for what is usually a slow, gentle ride down the scenic Stanislaus River. Small rapids add to the excitement, but are tame enough for first-time rafters. Penguins and parents are welcome to join in the fun!

Part of the LPAC tradition includes attacking other boats with water guns and buckets to see who is truly “King of the River.” If you prefer a less intense experience, you can designate your raft as a “dry boat.”

Many families choose to spend the night in Oakdale either Friday or Saturday night (or both) and make it a fun family weekend.

**Note: Absolutely NO ALCOHOL is permitted on the rafts on holiday weekends, including the day of our trip.**

LPAC: Weekly Update 5/6/24

Dear Penguins and Parents:

The first week of practices is always exciting. LPAC rents the pool from the HOA and the pool manager has already witnessed and addressed members of the LPAC governing board. There has been food (sunflower seed shells) and a bag of food garbage left on the pool deck, swimmers are walking on picnic tables, and the corn hole sets, and a piece of patio furniture was damaged. We need to remind everyone that we are guests of the HOA and the swim team is liable for behavior and damages. Please watch your swimmers and clean up trash and set the deck furniture back to how you found it.

LAST CHANCE TO SIGN UP FOR PENGUIN MADNESS!
