MORNING PRACTICES BEGIN: MONDAY, JUNE 12
Age range practice groups are listed below.

  • High School: 6:45–7:45/8:15 am*
  • 12-14: 7:45–8:45/9:15 am*
  • 9-11: 8:45–9:30 am
  • 8 & under: 9:30–10:15 am

*Swimmers ages 12 and up have 30 minutes of dryland exercises immediately following their regular practice times on three mornings a week, days MWTh. Please bring running shoes on those days.

EVENING PRACTICES: JUNE 12 – 16

  • Swimmers still in school: 8:00 – 9:00 pm

*For swimmers who are still in school, as we move to morning practices, we will have evening practices Monday – Friday, from June 12 to June 16.

PENGUIN POOL PARTY: WEDNESDAY, JUNE 14

This Wednesday, June 14th at 3:30pm is the Penguin Pool Party All LPAC swimmers are invited to come enjoy a fun pool party with their penguin pals. We’ll also have root beer floats and make tie-dye shirts to show our penguin pride! Please see the Penguin Pool Party page of our website for more information.

  • Date: Wednesday, June 14, 2023
  • Time: 3:30 pm – 5:30 pm; Must check in by 4:30 pm at the latest to do tie-dye!
  • Cost:
    • No charge for Association members
    • Non-members: $1/child, $2/adult
  • Swimmers will be provided with a Penguin shirt to tie-dye.
    • Please complete the attached form to indicate the preferred t-shirt size for your Penguin(s): Penguin Tie Dye T-Shirt Form 2023
    • We have a limited supply of each size, so arrive early for best chance to get your preferred size (first come/first served).
    • T-shirts are free for LPAC swimmers only…donations of any amount are appreciated (but not required) to help offset costs of this fun event!
    • T-shirts for parents or non-LPAC swimmers will be available for purchase beginning at 4:30 for $10 each, while supplies last.
    • Feel free to bring your own t-shirt to dye at no cost.

PICTURE DAY: THURSDAY, JUNE 15

Say Cheese!  Each LPAC swimmer receives an 8×10 team picture, individual pose photo, and a 3-inch photo button. The cost is included as part of your registration fees. Your swimmer will collect this package at the end of season banquet.

If you know that you would like to purchase additional picture items, such as buddy pictures, use the QR Code below to register. With the QR Code, you may purchase a package or advance pay credit, to be used towards your additional items. LPAC @ ALMADEN: SATURDAY, JUNE 3

  • Pool opens at 6:30 am for setup.
  • Check in Time: 7:15 am. 
    • Swimmers must check in with coaches by 7:15 am.
    • Parents must check in with Volunteer Coordinators by 7:15 am.

LPAC: Weekly Update (5/29/23)

Dear Penguins and Parents:

Hope you’re enjoying this lovely Memorial Day Weekend! Thanks to everyone for pitching in at Time Trials on Saturday. This week we have only a few days to get ready for Almaden on Saturday!

WILL YOU BE AT THE MEET THIS SATURDAY, JUNE 3?

MEMORIAL DAY SWIM CLINIC: MONDAY, MAY 29

  • There are no regular team practices on Memorial Day (Monday, May 29), but swimmers are invited to attend an optional Swim Clinic that morning from 9:00 to 10:30 am.
  • The coaches will be working with small groups of kids on diving from the blocks, backstroke starts, pulldowns, and all types of turns. Swimmers who want to work on any of these skills are welcome to attend.
  • Swimmers do not need to stay the whole time; they are welcome to drop in at any time and leave whenever they’d like.

TIME TIRALS MAKE-UP DAY: TUESDAY, MAY 30

  • Swimmers who did not attend Time Trials on Saturday or missed any of their events MUST come to Make-Up Day on Tuesday, May 30 at 6:00 pm.
  • For swimmers attending Make-Ups, it is MANDATORY that their parents stay and volunteer as timers and recorders during Make-Up Day.
  • Please arrive on time!
  • Please note there will be no regular night practices on Tuesday.

RAFT TRIP: SATURDAY, JULY 1, 2023

  • The wet and wild LPAC Raft Trip will be on Saturday, July 1 (there is no swim meet that weekend). We reserve rafts for a ride down the scenic Stanislaus River. With the snow melt this year, please expect water levels to be higher than usual. Penguins and parents are welcome to join in the fun!
  • Please note: part of the LPAC tradition includes attacking other boats with water guns and buckets to see who is truly “King of the River.” If you prefer a less intense experience, you can designate your raft as a “dry boat.”
  • Many families choose to spend the night in Oakdale either Friday or Saturday night (or both) and make it a fun family weekend.
  • There are only a limited number of rafts available, so be sure to get your forms and payment in ASAP if you plan to ride the river! See website for more details and a link to download form and waiver.

TEAM SUITS: AVAILABLE FOR PICK UP

  • Team jammers and racerback swimsuits are here! Amelia Hadfield will be available at practices today, 5/26 to pass them out. If you do not receive yours, Judy Seps will pass out the remaining suits at Time Trials.
  • Thin strap swimsuits have not arrived yet, but will be coming soon!

Dear Penguins and Parents:

Hope everyone had a great time at Penguin Madness! Now the madness really begins as we prepare for our first meet of the season (Time Trials) this Saturday.

TIME TRIALS: SATURDAY, MAY 27
Time Trials will be this Saturday, May 27.

  • Swimmers and parents should check in between 7:00 and 7:15 am.
  • Coach Scott will have a brief meeting for new swimmers and their parents after warm-ups.
  • The meet should be done around 1:00 pm.
  • If you are new to the team, check out the Swim Meet Survival Tips article on the website for some helpful advice about what to bring, what to wear, etc.
  • If your child will not be able to attend Time Trials, you need to let the coaches and volunteer coordinators know ASAP if you have not done so already. Please send an email to coaches@swimlpac.org and volunteers@swimlpac.org.
  • Any swimmers who do not attend Time Trials must come to the make-up day on Tuesday, May 30 at 6:00 pm.

PENGUIN MADNESS:
Penguin Madness is on Friday, May 19 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm.
Pizza will be available starting at 5:30 pm.

Penguin Madness Teams are all set! Swimmers are encouraged to wear the color of their designated penguin team. We can’t wait to see everyone there! If you did not register your penguins by Wednesday night your penguins can still participate in the Madness! We will place them on a team when they arrive.

  • This is a family event. Parents and siblings are invited to come and cheer on their favorite penguins.
  • Bring your own folding chairs or blankets to sit on.
  • The coaches will referee the events.
